Etienne graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Economics and Business Economics from the University of Pretoria. He also holds a postgraduate Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree in Business Economics from the University of South Africa.
Etienne began his career in the advertising industry, developing brand and consumer research models. During this period, he also discovered similar statistical models for financial market behaviour. The invention of the now-famous Vortex Indicator and the proprietary Vortex system is the result of over two decades of dedicated research and development.
Etienne is the Chief Investment Officer of Vortex and brings in excess of 22 years’ investment experience. From 2019, he intends to embark on his PhD in Economics and Finance at the University of Portsmouth.
Victoria roberts - PORTFOLIO MANAGER
Victoria graduated from the University of South Africa with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. She also holds a postgraduate Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree in Financial Management from the University of South Africa. In 2003, she was awarded the Senate Medal by the university for best academic performance.
Victoria began her career at Old Mutual Global Index Trackers, a boutique asset manager, where she was responsible for various client portfolios. Victoria subsequently joined Vortex in 2008.
She is the Portfolio Manager at Vortex and has over 15 years’ experience in the financial industry. She also holds the CFA UK Certificate in Investment Management (IMC) and the CISI Certificate in Global Financial Compliance.
